ADDRESS: Armadale Tourist Centre, 40 Jull Street, Armadale, WA
PROJECT: The Bert Tyler Vintage Machinery Museum is named after a local Armadale man who enjoyed tinkering and restoring vintage machines and tools. With over 100 objects, the collection was donated to the City of Armadale in 2002 and came under the management of the History House Museum curator.
In 2014 Creative Spaces redesigned the overall layout, furniture, graphics and a new logo for the Museum. We created custom display furniture that incorporated interpretive panels and drawers in which to store objects. An effort was made to keep the shed feel whilst creating a cleaner, more spacious environment. Structural materials utilised included steel, leather, jarrah and ply. This distinctive mix gives the space a rustic feel and retains the machinery aesthetic.
The Museum also received new exterior signs and exhibition labels.
