Government House Interpretive Signs

ADDRESS: St Georges Terrace, Perth, WA

PROJECT: Government House commissioned Creative Spaces to undertake the creation of a sign style guide for the purpose of guiding future signage needs on the site.

The guide called for modern, elegant and non-intrusive designs, some with readily interchangeable sections so that information could be updated over time without changing the entire sign face. Colour variation was used to differentiate between separate messages, such as interpretive information, security notifications and way-finding, while keeping within the existing colour palette at Government House. A standard set of symbols was developed for use across the site, and these can be seen on the header and footer of each sign.

Based on the style guide, a number of interpretive signs were rolled out across the site.

COMPLETED: March 2015
